To make a difference in the lives of the Nebraska Panhandle residents by supporting mental health and substance use disorder initiatives in our communities.
A future where Nebraska Panhandle residents with mental illness and substance use disorders are thriving in our communities.
The Panhandle Mental Health Foundation began in January 2001 to aid mental health and substance abuse treatment by promoting public service announcements targeting specific areas of treatment.
The Foundation was established to provide financial support to mental health and substance abuse providers — not just Panhandle Mental Health Center — by securing grants that target specific areas of needed services. These areas include start-up funding for new services, emergency funds for purchasing prescription medications until another source of income can be obtained, and emergency housing funds so mental health and substance abuse consumers can be placed in appropriate programs.
